I am Sarah Siddique Gill, born and brought up in a predominantly Muslim village, Kotli Peer Ahamd Shah, Gujranwala, Pakistan. I have been brought up in a Christian family with four brothers and a sister.
After completing my Master’s Degree in Islamic studies I started taking interest in the Biblical studies and completed various courses.
I became a Bible teacher at The United Bible Training Centre, Gujranwala, Pakistan and enjoyed working with young Christian girls.
In 2002, I was invited by the Church Mission Society UK to work with the Church of the Province of South Africa. It was an initiative from the CMS to encourage South to South sharing of the mission resources for ministry and mission.
I was based in the Diocese of Christ the King in Johannesburg. I was then asked by Church Mission Society UK to come and work with the Inner Ring Group Churches in Bradford in the year 2005.
It was an ecumenical project where Anglican and Methodist Churches worked together in a predominant Muslim presence in Manningham, Bradford.
In 2007, I felt called to serve as an ordained minister.
After due process of selection, education and training, in 2011, I was ordained as a deacon in The Episcopal Area of Bradford (Previously known The Diocese of Bradford) and was placed to serve my title as an Assistant Curate at the parish of St Paul’s Shipley.
After completing my title as a curate, my first appointment has been at Woodhouse Close Church, Bishop Auckland. I am enjoying my present work in an ecumenical Church set up.
